Against all odds, we’re back. Last episode, we talked about how much we had to look forward to! Well, not anymore. It’s time to dip into our endless reserve of pessimism and talk about some dark futurology. Let’s be real, y’all, it’s not looking good out there lately.
We talk about some of our biggest fears for the future. Darryl talks the trend of hyper-partisan politics and gives the secret origin of Jesus Christ: microbiologist. Ryan talks automation and his own miserable existence. Phil talks antibiotic resistant bacteria and has no faith in human decency vs. the allure of McNuggets. Sly talks immortality and really “Slys it up” in style.
We’re looking to the future! We (try to) focus on the bright side of humanity’s future. Optimism? In MY political podcast?
Darryl walks us through some of the pros and cons of generational trends as the Parkland students show us that all hope is not lost. Sly pays his dues and breaks down the return of the unions of the world as they bargain for more power again! Ryan struggles to pronounce Universal Basic Income, but manages to explain Finland, Alaska, and California’s experiments to fight automation and disappearing jobs! Phil couldn’t bear to think about anything positive in this hellscape we’ve ended up in, but he’ll be back next episode!
“The greatest victory is that which requires no battle.” ― Sun Tzu
We’re here to talk about China. They’re quickly becoming an even larger power, but so what? What kind of influence do they already have? How are they growing it? Just what is free trade and what’s a tariff? And why are all globalists cucks? We answer all these pressing questions and more.
On this episode, Darryl breaks down Trump’s new tariff announcements and asks “Why is Trump doing this dumb thing?” Ryan talks about NAFTA and the TPP and reveals his true motivations. Phil looks at just how terrible of a place China is and how much they pollute. And Sly pretty much does the same thing, but from a different point of view, one that’s got way more cameras!
On this episode, we talk about money in politics. Turns out, politicians are corrupt! Can you believe it?
In this episode, we compare Trump vs. Hillary’s campaign money! Phil gives us some stats on just how much money matters in an election. Sly gives us some history on limitless campaign spending. Ryan looks to the future and how Democrats are addressing these concerns. And Darryl tells us about everyone’s least favorite lobby, the NRA.
We spent last episode complaining about Obama’s Foreign Policy and Neo-liberalism and now it’s only fair to dump on a much, much worse president, Richard Nixon. No, he’s not some intricate balance of complex good and bad issues, he’s a straight up piece of garbage. But what are some of the standout parts of his presidency? And how is Trump aping his style and grace? Pretty much whenever he can. Crooks of a feather, I suppose.
Everyone’s talking about Watergate nowadays. And adding gate to the end of everything. So what actually happened? What was the Saturday Night Massacre? And why was he called DeepThroat? Darryl walks us through the scandal and the cover-up. And a lot of people praise ol’ Tricky Dick for opening trade with China. Why was that such a big deal? Phil helps give some brief (more or less) history of China and some of the economic implications of opening up our economies.
Ryan walks us through some history of Cambodia, and how Nixon fueled the fires, staged coups, and led to one of the more forgotten and heinous genocides in modern times. A genocide America refused to acknowledge for decades! And finally Sly continues Nixon’s foreign policy disasters with how we intervened in Chile and pushed Friedman economic policies on behalf of American corporations and at the expense of the South American people. Oh, and don’t forget, Nixon started the war on drugs because he hated black people and was terrified of Jews! Also Henry Kissinger is scum, too.
Content warning: We speak extensively on some very heavy issues, primarily genocide.
Thanks, Obama. It’s time or the left to cannibalize itself. We all know Trump’s the worst president in modern American history. But was Obama perfect? We’ve wanted to talk about Obama’s flaws and problems for a while, but it’s important to keep in mind that Trump is So. Much. Worse.
Phil breaks down some of the nonsense Obama had to deal with, like his “lazy” vacation schedule and how it compares to Trump’s and Bush’s. Similarly, he compares “tyrant” Obama’s Executive Orders. The republican presidents were way worse, can you believe it? Darryl goes through the timeline of drone strikes and compares civilian deaths throughout our endless war with anyone we feel like attacking. Ryan focuses on Health Care, not the Trumpcare bills we covered previously, but some of the problems with Obamacare, which are all Joe Lieberman’s fault (and by proxy, Obama). Sly lays out his case against neoliberalism, especially during the Wall Street bailout, and wow, even just the foreplay is enough to radicalize us.
Last episode, we talked about our family’s politics. Very dramatically. And it definitely wasn’t just about our parents and the secret resentments that created our argument styles. So now we turn the microphone to all of you listeners and try to make us feel like we’re not totally weird. Big thanks to Elle, Julia, Julia’s Mom, Matt, Lauren, and Will for talking to us! Good thing nothing major happened last week in American politics! Usually it’s a real ****hole. Also porn stars are there sometimes. And Steve Bannon was subpoenaed and then refused to answer any questions. Why am I still writing this? 2018, am I right?

Happy New Year, everyone! After a restful and relaxing holiday with our family, we’re back to complain about them! For this special episode, we decided to touch upon how we were raised, politically, when we started to diverge from our parents’ beliefs, and what it’s like dealing with them now. Apparently we can’t help but just talk about our dads the whole time! Wonder what that means?!?
On this episode, Phil desperately tries to psychoanalyze our very obvious hangups. Darryl breaks ranks to talk about… someone other than his Dad. Ryan’s slowly turning into Sly. And Sly takes a genuine turn to talk about his worldview.

In this episode, we cap off 2017 with some major topics we’ve been meaning to cover like the Trump turnover and Mueller’s Trump investigation. We also cover the GOP tax bill, the perfect news story to sum up year one of hellworld. Or is it hellword? It is, but maybe not as hellworld as it could have been.
We talk about Trump’s administration and the massive turnover it has experienced during the course of the year. To be fair, the administration is currently undergoing a tumultuous event. That event being the Trump Presidency. We also discuss the Trump investigation by Robert Mueller and Republican reaction to it. And just in case you think the GOP is any better, we also talk about the new Tax Bill. Ryan assures everyone that things are going great and it’s time to be complacent again. Darryl accidentally spills the beans on our Immortal government officials. Phil is not optimistic that the Trump presidency will end with Trump’s decapitation while Sly has a dark prophecy for the Post-Trump future.
2017 is terrible. Anyone who disagrees is probably a jerk. However, one of the few good things is the wave of men being held accountable for being total pieces of garbage. The list of men being accused of sexual harassment and sexual assault is never ending and every American industry is starting to flush out the monsters. Is this the beginning of the end of the patriarchy? Goddess, we flippin’ hope so.
On this episode, Ryan is joined by previous guests Alana, Julia, and Helen to discuss the recent outing of dozens of sexual predators. How do we feel about apologies? How do we deal with these people? We discuss Louis CK, Al Franken, Roy Moore, Donald Trump, Kevin Spacey, Harvey Weinstein, and many more. This one gets pretty honest and emotional, y’all.
Content Warning: This episode has a lot of personal stories and experiences about sexual harassment, violence, and assault.
